Message from the Chair - June

david hutchinson.jpgGreetings,

So it's now summer, and despite improvements in the corporate banking community, unemployment continues to rise.   So, hey!  Why not spend some of that idle time volunteering for the Marketing & Sales SIG?    We're looking for a few good men and women to fill  some of our recently vacated board positions.    Officers get 10 PDUs for every 12 months of volunteer time, and it's great fun being part of tomorrow's project & program management community.  For those of your who are interested, please let me This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Also, in case you missed it, please log into the SIG website (into the vault) and call up our webinar from last week entitled "Marketing Operations and the Project Management Engine" with Kurt Ballard, Senior Partners with ZIG ZAG Marketing.   Each webinar is good for one PDU, and this latest presentation is packed with lots of great tips and best practices for project/program managers who are interested in the more strategic aspects of applied project
management.

Thank you for your membership and participation.

I look forward to seeing you online!

Sincerely,
Dave Hutchinson, PMP
Chair, Marketing & Sales SIG

Spotlight My Community

The transformation has begun!  All PMI Specific Interest Groups and Colleges are changing into PMI Virtual Communities. The Marketing & Sales SIG has now completed 3 of the 13 steps toward the goal of being a PMI Virtual Community by the end of 2010.

Our board’s vice-chair of finance, Karen Wang, is working with PMI to manage this project and has provided a basic Q+A, and will be updating us as the transformation progresses.
